Information Strategist – Large Community and Infrastructure Projects

We are now looking for a highly senior information strategist for a long-term and complex program within community building/infrastructure. The assignment is suitable for you who work strategically with information management, BIM, standards, and common data environments and who want to help establish structures that will last for decades.

This is a consulting assignment where you will be a central support function to program management and project organization, with significant influence over how information is planned, structured, delivered, and managed throughout its lifecycle.

Duration of the assignment:

A long-term consulting assignment with a planned start in 2026 and the possibility of ongoing assignments over a very long time (several years, potentially up to 10+ years). The scope varies over time but requires availability corresponding to approximately 50% of full-time at the start of the assignment.

About the assignment

As an information strategist, you are responsible for developing, managing, and further developing an overarching information strategy for a larger program with many parallel projects and actors. You ensure that information requirements, working methods, and system support are interconnected and function over time.

The work is both strategic and practical and involves close collaboration with program management, projects, technical specialists, and other support functions.

Examples of tasks

• Develop and manage a program-wide information strategy
• Define, control, and verify information and information delivery requirements
• Develop and manage a common data environment (CDE) according to ISO 19650
• Ensure structure for document and object information, classification, and naming
• Support projects in issues related to information management, BIM, and data coordination
• Coordinate information flows between different systems and platforms
• Develop routines, guidelines, and delivery specifications
• Educate and guide the project organization in information coordination
• Act as strategic expert support in information-related issues

Workplace and setup

• The assignment is mainly carried out on-site at the client's location in Gothenburg
• Combination of on-site and remote work
• On-site presence is required continuously and is estimated to be at least about 30% of the assignment time
• Consulting assignment with variable fees
• The scope may vary over time and is not guaranteed month by month

Mandatory requirements

To be considered, you must meet all of the following requirements:

• At least 10 years of documented experience in information management within construction, building, or infrastructure projects
• At least 5 years of experience from large projects or programs with a budget of at least 500 million SEK
• Documented experience in implementing at least two of the following standards:
• ISO 19650, IEC 81346, IEC 61355, ISO 15926
• Solid understanding of concepts, processes, and delivery specifications within information management
• Practical experience of working in common data environments (CDE), such as project portals, document and model management, case management, and review/approval
• Experience in information management in public operations or equivalent controlled environments
• Relevant higher education or equivalent competence acquired through long professional experience
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Good ability to express yourself in English, both orally and in writing

Desirable qualifications

• Experience with long-term programs or megaprojects with many parallel subprojects
• Deep experience in BIM, information, and data coordination in complex organizations
• Experience in developing and managing classification systems, naming principles, and RBS structures
• Experience in working with follow-up, metrics, and dashboards related to information management
• Experience in educating and coaching project organizations
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with various stakeholders
