Your New Job

As a Support Assistant, you will provide support to our citizens in their daily activities, focusing on developing their independence and practical skills.

The work involves assisting participants with product packaging, for example, packaging brushes, rollers, and screws. The job includes guiding participants through work tasks to promote their learning and problem-solving abilities. The role also includes documentation.

Your Qualifications

For the title of Support Assistant, a completed high school program in health and social care with a specialization in disability/psychiatry or child and youth studies with a focus on social work/educational work is required. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems relevant. You must have a good command of Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension as there will be contact with participants, relatives, guardians, and other professionals, as well as documentation and reading information related to the work.

Previous work experience in warehousing or assembly is an advantage for this position. It is important that you have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and have worked with low-affect responses and clear pedagogical methods.

Knowledge of mental health issues is desirable. It is also preferred if you have a B driver's license and forklift certification.

As a person, you are stable and secure, creating a calm and motivating work environment. Your empathetic ability allows you to meet participants with understanding and respect, contributing to their development. Additionally, you are quality-conscious and work meticulously to ensure that the operations maintain a high standard.

Kålgårdsverkstans daily activities are located in central Jönköping (Kålgården). The workgroup consists of 9 employees, and we work with approximately 42 citizens.

Good to Know

The recruitment is for a permanent full-time position. The start date for the position is by agreement. Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday. Recruitment is ongoing with continuous selection and interviews. Offers of employment in other daily activities may also be relevant. We work with co-planning, which means that work in other activities within daily operations may also be relevant.
