The position is placed at Tillväxt Timrå, the unit for business and community development under the Municipal Executive Office in Timrå Municipality. The unit works with issues such as physical planning, land and exploitation, mapping/GIS, nature conservation, and establishments. Tillväxt Timrå has been in existence for nearly four years and is now a cohesive and interdisciplinary team located in newly renovated premises at Vivstahöjden in Timrå.

Job Responsibilities

As a community planner, you will work broadly with the municipality's physical planning from a long-term perspective, contributing both strategically and operationally to Timrå's community building. The work includes strategic community planning related to growth, housing supply, business, and sustainable development. You will produce documentation, analyses, and planning support for political decisions and coordinate planning issues in early stages in dialogue with internal and external stakeholders.

Your role includes, among other things:

  • working with detailed and comprehensive planning, thematic strategies, and planning programs
  • participating in projects related to larger establishments, infrastructure, and land and exploitation issues
  • contributing to the development and processing of detailed plans and preparing planning documents

The assignment involves close collaboration and dialogue with other municipalities, the region, the County Administrative Board, and government agencies. You will also participate in citizen dialogues and consultation and review processes. The role also includes providing planning support to the municipality's other operations.

In case of an extension, the position may have a clearer focus on detailed and comprehensive planning.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a university degree in community planning, architecture, planning architecture/physical planning, or another relevant field
  • several years of experience in similar tasks
  • experience in independently driving processes from idea to decision
  • experience working in politically governed organizations and an understanding of decision-making processes

It is advantageous to have:

  • experience working in municipal operations
  • knowledge of sustainable community development and energy and climate issues
  • experience in planning related to climate adaptation, natural values, or environmental assessments
  • an interest in community building from a regional and national perspective
