The Operational Unit belongs to Region Stockholm. Its mission is to actively support local police areas, police regions, and units in their fundamental tasks. This is done by developing and providing specialist capabilities that enhance operational effectiveness in addressing the region's issues. With specialist competence, high service, and good collaboration, the operational unit is an important part of the operational and crime-fighting work.

We are now looking for a driven and committed group leader for the Section of Operational Communication. The section works with crime prevention efforts and consists of three groups: Negotiators, Dialogue Police, and Operational Communication, which also includes crisis support and volunteer activities. As the group leader for the Operational Communication group, you will have great freedom to develop and steer your operations according to the unit's operational goals. You will have the opportunity to work deeply with crime prevention efforts aimed at making a change, and you will influence important decisions made by the authority. Operational communication means working with areas, topics, and groups using police methods and communication to reduce crime.

Job Responsibilities

As the head of operational communication, you will report to the section head and be part of the section's management team, where you will collectively be responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and for driving the authority's change and development work. You will have particular responsibility for the group's activities within operational communication and its results. As a group leader, you will represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.

Being a leader within the Police Authority means creating safety and building trust by exercising sincere, courageous, and attentive leadership with confidence in others' competence and abilities. As a leader, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to acting together based on what is best for citizens and the mission as a whole.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • at least 1 year of continuous experience working as a group leader
  • experience leading change and development efforts
  • experience in the relevant operational area, extensive experience in crime prevention work
  • a relevant degree for the position, police degree in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:110)
  • Swedish citizenship
  • experience leading others towards set goals and results

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • been part of a management forum
  • extensive experience in operational communication targeting various groups for crime prevention purposes
  • experience working within the police authority's operational management
  • leadership training for direct, indirect, and/or strategic levels
  • experience leading collaboration with many stakeholders and community actors both outside and within the police authority
