Job Description

Here, over 100 employees work in teams around the patient, with both planned and emergency surgeries around the clock. You will be an important part of maintaining our high quality and availability in an operation where collaboration, competence, and engagement are at the center. We do not have explicit section work but want everyone to have broad competence and readiness to handle on-call work. You will take care of both emergency operations and planned surgeries.

As an anesthesiologist, you are responsible for the patient's safety and care during anesthesia during surgeries and medical procedures. In consultation with the anesthesiologist, you plan and perform anesthesia, monitor the patient's breathing and circulation, and ensure that vital functions are maintained throughout the procedure.

You manage airways, administer medications, and use advanced medical technology to continuously monitor the patient. Your role also includes pre- and post-operative care, where you are responsible for pain relief and preparations for surgery.

You work both in the operating department and with external anesthesias in both radiology and outpatient clinics. The assignment also includes trauma care in the emergency department. The work requires the ability to make quick decisions, work under pressure, and handle unexpected situations in a high-tech environment where the patient must always be the focus. We also perform donation surgeries, which we want you to learn and be involved in over time.

Our operational development largely relies on employees contributing solutions, engagement, and time for responsibility work distributed proportionally according to what the operation prioritizes. Since we receive students from several different programs, there is also a responsibility for supervision at various levels.

Work Group

Every day you work with the patient together with surgical nurses, nursing assistants, specialist nursing assistants, as well as anesthesiologists and operators.

The work group is stable and there is a wealth of experience among all professional categories. We want you to be prepared to contribute to making your colleagues better and therefore have high demands on reception, communication, feedback, and employee participation.

Our systematic work environment efforts are based on health factors (Link) and we strive for present, engaged leadership, good communication, and high participation.

We are currently in an exciting period where we are getting new, fresh premises. The renovation is taking place alongside our ongoing operations, which will affect our daily lives in various ways until everything is completed by 2030.

About You

You are a licensed specialist nurse in anesthesiology. We would like you to have previous experience as an anesthesiologist, preferably from highly specialized care. Previous experience in emergency care is an advantage. If you have training in reception, communication, or teamwork, we see it as a benefit. Good Swedish language skills are required in both spoken and written form as you will communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues, as well as document in journals.

We are looking for you who have a holistic view, take responsibility for what you do, and act based on what is best for the operation. You are good at planning and prioritizing, make quick and thoughtful decisions, and get things done. You work well with others, communicate in an open and attentive way, and resolve any conflicts in a fair and constructive manner. We will therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. Even when there is a lot going on, you remain calm, focus on the right things, and adapt to the situation to contribute to a safe and stable care environment.
