About the department and section
The Naval Department is a department belonging to the Naval Staff. The Naval Section Gothenburg is one of four sections belonging to the Naval Department, the other sections are located in Muskö, Karlskrona, and Visby. The main task of the Naval Section Gothenburg is to support the Naval Staff's Sea Surveillance Center Gothenburg (SeaC Gbg). The position is referred to as a systems technician and involves work with operation, maintenance, and development of the command and communication systems that the section supports. The focus for this position is primarily on SeaC Gbg and their operations, but support to other units is also included. On-call duty is a natural part of the job. The section also participates in the Navy's training activities when they need extra technical support.

Main Responsibilities

• Independently or in teams carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, installation work, commissioning, modifications, and documentation on systems and equipment
• Work proactively with the development and maintenance of systems and equipment
• If necessary, you may need to act as a team leader in your function, collaborating with customers, suppliers, and supporting the customer with technical inquiries

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• 3-year upper secondary education with a focus on IT/Technical direction or equivalent knowledge that can be assessed as equivalent
• Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Experience working with IT-based systems and troubleshooting them
• Driver's license *B*

Other

The employment is a civilian permanent position, full-time with an initial 6-month probationary period. The workplace is Gothenburg. Unconventional working hours and travel nationally and internationally may occur. Start date as soon as possible or according to agreement.

As part of this work, the Armed Forces has organized a Naval Staff for the leadership of the Naval units. The Naval Staff is established in Muskö in Haninge municipality.
