At Forsmark, approximately 1,200 employees currently work, and we are part of the Vattenfall Group, which operates in a European job market with opportunities for fantastic development for you as an employee. Our workplace is beautifully located along the lovely Roslags coast.

UL operates buses to Forsmark with wireless networks on the routes Gävle-Forsmark and Uppsala-Forsmark, allowing you to use travel time as work time if/when work permits. Buses to and from Forsmark are adapted to the working hours of daytime staff. You also have the option to use our remote workspaces in Gävle and Uppsala or work from home if/when the work allows.

About the Role

About the Group

The group is responsible for process and safety analyses and works on analyzing the static and dynamic behavior of the facilities. We manage and develop methods and tools for advanced analyses and contribute to ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

As a summer employee with us, you will work closely with experienced calculation engineers and have the opportunity to contribute to assignments of great significance. Your main tasks may include:

  • Preparation of input data for models and analyses
  • Model development in the simulation tool APROS
  • Conducting simulations and tests of models
  • Documentation of models, methodology, and results

The summer job provides insight into the work of a calculation engineer and how technical analyses are performed in practice. You will work with real facility documentation and use your knowledge in mathematics, physics, and programming to develop models and perform analyses. The role is an opportunity to strengthen your technical skills and gain experience from an advanced and high-tech environment.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are pursuing an engineering degree
  • You have very good computer skills
  • You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious

  • Experience in programming, for example in MATLAB or similar tools
  • Knowledge of nuclear technology and reactor safety

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who takes initiative and acts confidently based on their convictions. You work in a structured manner and can effectively plan and prioritize to meet deadlines. You contribute new ideas and implement them in practice with good results. When faced with complex issues, you work analytically and methodically and have an easy time identifying solutions. You also have a strong numerical ability and handle data quickly and accurately.
