Biomedical Analyst at the Emergency Laboratory in Västerås

Job Responsibilities

As a biomedical analyst at the Emergency Laboratory, you will work in many exciting areas with a wide range of analyses. Here you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge in our various processes of clinical chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and immunochemistry analyses, as well as blood group serology with blood delivery. You will also perform urgent molecular biology analyses and manage blood cultures. The work as a biomedical analyst at the Emergency Laboratory involves a varied, significant, and developing role.

We focus on individual competence development with the possibility to eventually apply for other special assignments alongside routine work. Mentoring new colleagues and students is seen as a natural part of the job.

About the Workplace

At Laboratory Medicine, you are welcomed to an operation that includes the specialties of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine. We have about 200 employees and are located at the four hospitals in Västmanland.

With the patient and our customers in focus, we deliver services to healthcare in the form of sample collection and results, blood components, functional examinations, and care of the deceased. Laboratory Medicine works for good and safe care at the right time. Among us, there are professional categories such as biomedical analysts, doctors, cytodiagnosticians, nurses, nursing assistants, molecular biologists, chemists, and laboratory engineers.

Laboratory Medicine is accredited according to the ISO 15189 standard.

At the Emergency Laboratory in Västerås, you will meet an experienced, competent, and friendly workgroup consisting of about 40 employees working in a change-oriented environment with the patient in focus. We offer you a tailored introduction based on your previous experiences.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical analyst, preferably with previous experience in the profession. If you are newly graduated, you are also welcome to apply. Experience from emergency operations is a merit for the position. You need to have basic IT skills and good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

To thrive in the role and succeed with the tasks, personal competencies are also important. Being a team player with good collaboration skills while also being able to work independently is a given. The responsibility in the tasks requires that you are meticulous, but also flexible and responsive to changes within the organization, which demands your ability to prioritize. You also have the ability to handle multiple parallel processes and tasks. You are characterized by a service-oriented and patient-focused approach and understand the importance of delivering good quality in your work.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment. Full-time, on-call. Start date by agreement.
