Environmental/Sustainability Engineer for Exciting Assignment in Västerås
Are you an environmental/sustainability engineer with a technical background looking to work on product-related sustainability at a global level? At Jefferson Wells, we are currently seeking a consultant for an exciting assignment with our client in Västerås. Do you want to contribute to sustainability efforts by driving life cycle assessments, environmental declarations, and certificate management? Assignment Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension or employment with the client
About the Job
As an Environmental/Sustainability Engineer, you will be part of the company's sustainability function and work operationally with a technical focus. The role means that you are an important link between the sustainability department and product/hardware engineers. You will ensure environmental data, compliance with environmental requirements, and management of certificates for products at a global level.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Planning, coordinating, and communicating life cycle assessments and environmental declarations for products.
- Providing updates on the status of assessments and environmental declarations in monthly forums for sustainability and circular economy.
- Driving the collection of environmental data internally and through external tools.
- Creating templates for reporting chemical content and ensuring that products comply with environmental requirements.
- Working on strategy for certificate management and initiating processes for the renewal of product certificates.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with a technical or engineering background in environmental or sustainability fields who enjoys working with data, analysis, and reporting. You are structured, meticulous, and have the ability to drive tasks independently. The role requires close collaboration with engineers and global teams, making your communication skills essential.
To Succeed in This Role, We See That You Have:
- Technical/engineering background in environmental or sustainability fields.
- Experience or interest in life cycle assessments, environmental declarations, chemical management, and certificates.
- Good knowledge of Excel.
- The ability to work in a structured and independent manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with systems and tools for data management, such as Salesforce.
- Previous work with product-related sustainability, environmental reporting, or certification.
