About us and the organization

The Women's Shelter Piilopirtti is a non-profit organization that has been operating for 37 years, working against men's violence towards women and children.

We currently have two employees.

The organization consists of three parts:

-Temporary women's shelter for women affected by violence, with or without children and pets.

-Open operations with counseling, advice, and practical interventions.

-Outreach and preventive work and activities. This involves collaboration with other actors, giving lectures, and spreading knowledge about violence and other advocacy work.

About you

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has another equivalent education with experience in meeting people in crisis. We prefer that you have documented knowledge and experience of violence in close relationships and its consequences. It is an advantage if you have previously worked at a women's shelter or similar organization.

We place great importance on personal suitability and value a caring approach and interaction where the individual is the focus.

As a person, you are open, responsible, flexible, and resilient to stress. You are also an animal lover as we also encounter accompanying pets in our work.

Qualifications

-For the position, you must have a degree in social work or a similar education. (At least 180 credits).

-You should have experience in supportive conversations with adults (children, advantageous).

-You must have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form. (Additional languages are advantageous)

-Computer literacy

-B driver's license

Your tasks

The work varies from day to day but the main task is to provide support, advice, and practical help to those we meet. Daily contact with women and children forms the basis of the work. The work also includes administration and practical tasks.

We are a small workplace where a high degree of personal responsibility and good cooperation is required.

Your tasks will mainly include:

-Meeting women and children in crisis.

-Providing support conversations

-Contacting and participating in meetings with social services, police, judiciary, and other authorities.

-Providing support and advice to residents, their children, and other applicants for support.

-Educating, lecturing, and informing about men's violence against women/violence in close relationships and about our organization.

-Performing regular administrative tasks.

Employment

The workplace is located in the municipality of Gothenburg.

We apply a 6-month probationary period. Salary according to collective agreement. Working hours are mainly scheduled on weekdays during the day, with some evening and weekend work and on-call duty may be included.
