The Adult Unit is part of the Labor Market and Economic Assistance area within the Social and Labor Market Administration in Borlänge Municipality.
At the Adult Unit, we have good collegial cohesion, and our caseworkers possess both solid knowledge and a very broad competence in the areas of addiction, social psychiatry according to SoL, and economic assistance. Our employees are highly engaged in their work. We have a good atmosphere, great community, and we have fun at our workplace.
We are a large unit, with social workers and financial administrators, totaling about 50 employees and five senior social workers. We have a management team consisting of a unit manager, two deputy unit managers, and a senior social worker.
The work consists of exercising authority within social psychiatry according to SoL, addiction, and economic assistance.
Our caseworkers are divided into teams. We believe in close and accessible leadership where each team is led by a senior social worker. We have a team that works with applications and questions within social psychiatry, one team works with addiction/substance abuse, four teams work with economic assistance/support for living, one team works with incorrect payments (FUT), and one team works with estate administration and recovery.
Our operations are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our Borlänge residents by supporting and empowering individuals to enter the labor market and increase the possibility of self-sufficiency. We place great value on social work and meet individuals in the situation they find themselves in.
We are now looking for you who are a trained social worker and have a legal interest combined with a big heart who wants to help create positive changes for individuals by working with us in Economic Assistance/support for living.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
With us, you will belong to a workgroup with several social workers led by a senior social worker. In this role, you will have the opportunity to follow the individual from the first application to their self-sufficiency.
The main tasks as a social worker in the Adult Unit are to investigate the individual's resources and barriers to self-sufficiency.
- Process and document applications for economic assistance/support for living, investigate the need for labor market interventions, and follow up on interventions.
- Make decisions according to the Social Services Act based on the applicable delegation order.
- Work in a coaching and supportive manner with the individual where the goal is self-sufficiency through work, studies, or other compensation.
- Maintain regular contact with individuals who need more than economic support.
- Collaborate internally and externally.
- Call for SIP and other network meetings.
As a new employee, you will participate in our introductory program with mentorship. Your introduction will be individually tailored to your needs. Everything to ensure you have a good start with us, feel comfortable, and feel secure.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements for the position:
- We are looking for you who are a social worker or have another education that the employer assesses as equivalent
- You should have very good oral and written skills in Swedish
- You need to have good knowledge of the responsibilities of authorities and legislation
Meritorious:
- We would like you to have previous experience in documentation, investigative work, and processing economic assistance.
- Knowledge in MI and low-arousal approach
- Previous experience and knowledge in the area of economic assistance/support for living.
- Experience with the investigation tool Instrument X
- Working in the operational systems VIVA and LifeCare
Personal qualities:
- You should have the ability to work independently and plan your work based on needs
- You need to be able to collaborate easily with others and manage some stress during periods
- You should have the ability to plan and, if necessary, be flexible to reprioritize certain tasks
