Blekingesjukhuset provides somatic care that requires specialized medical and technical resources and expertise not found within primary care.

We operate in both Karlshamn and Karlskrona.

The orthopedic/surgical department belongs to the Orthopedic Clinic, Blekingesjukhuset. The department has 22 beds for planned care of orthopedic and surgical patients. All professional categories work towards the same goal: a satisfied and well-informed patient with an efficient and safe care period. We are here for the patient.

About the Job

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work with preoperative and postoperative care. Overall, we perform about 25 different surgeries. Some of the orthopedic procedures we perform include knee replacements, hip replacements, and various spinal surgeries. Some of the surgical operations we perform are breast surgeries, tummy tucks, gastric bypass, and urological procedures. In the department, we care for patients who have undergone a planned operation, meaning that the patient comes from home and has been looking forward to coming to us for help with their issues. Thus, we provide positive care with motivated patients and short hospital stays. The department has a good working environment with a positive spirit and a focus on the patient's best interests. In orthopedics/surgery, we care for each other and are careful about team spirit.

We operate around the clock, currently only open four full weekends a year; the remaining weekends the department closes on Saturday.

About You

We are looking for someone who is trained as a nursing assistant. It is advantageous if you have completed training with a focus on emergency care or have experience working in a somatic care department.

You should have a genuine interest in working in a surgical department for planned care. We would like you to have a good ability to organize and plan work. You should also have good collaboration skills and a desire to contribute to creating a good working climate. We are a department that actively works with students and trainees.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in wartime positions.
