The Urban Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.

We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work in the administration.

The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

Are you a civil engineer looking to work with the city's bridges and structures? The Urban Environment Administration is now seeking a planning leader for bridges with an interest in infrastructure and community building.

In the role of manager, you will have overall responsibility for bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and rock cuts within your area. You will have your own budget responsibility and work with both operations and maintenance as well as long-term planning and development. The work involves investigating needs, developing action proposals, and project managing initiatives from idea to implementation. In this role, you will be part of a team of three, and we are now looking for one more person to join the team.

You will coordinate and procure contracts, follow up on agreements, and ensure quality, economy, and timelines with the help of experienced colleagues. An important part of the assignment is to function as technical support and a specialist in your area of expertise to other projects, colleagues, and operations within the city.

The role involves many points of contact, and you will have close collaboration with both internal operations and external actors, such as consultants, contractors, and authorities. You will also be responsible for case management within your area of responsibility and actively contribute to the development of working methods and routines.

The position is located in the unit for structures and lighting, which consists of 14 engaged and knowledgeable employees. Here, there is a strong team spirit, high technical competence, and a shared focus on developing the city's infrastructure sustainably.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in construction and civil engineering or an education that the employer deems equivalent. The position requires a B driver's license.

It is advantageous if you have had an internship in construction and civil engineering and if you have experience with Excel and Word.
