University West is looking for a Senior Lecturer in Logistics

Logistics and operations management is a central area within University West's (HV's) complete academic environment in production technology (KAM-PT), which includes education, research, doctoral education, and collaboration.

The position is located in the Department of Industrial Economics at the Faculty of Engineering (IV) and is part of the research group Logistics and Operations Management. The department offers two educational programs: Master in Operations and Supply Chain Management and the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Economics. The role involves working within the thematic area of logistics and operations management with a particular focus on production logistics and quality development.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the development, teaching, examination, and quality assurance of the department's two educational programs, with a particular focus on the industrial economics program.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of courses and commissioned education aimed at professionals in the manufacturing industry.
  • Engage in current research within the department, interdisciplinary research within the university, and together with external partners.
  • Be program responsible for education in industrial economics.
  • Contribute to the university's change efforts and development of the university's activities in collaboration with the surrounding community.

Eligibility requirements for the position of Senior Lecturer:

  • Demonstrated pedagogical skills (4 chapter 4 § HF). Applicants who lack pedagogical merits from an academic environment must have qualifications equivalent to the university's eligibility requirements, although this may have been achieved in ways other than within the academic environment.
  • Completed higher education pedagogical training of at least ten weeks or equivalent competence. If higher education pedagogical training is lacking, employment may still occur on the condition that the employee completes the training within the first two years of employment.
  • Completed doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence or other professional skills that are significant in relation to the subject matter of the employment and the tasks to be included in the employment (4 chapter 4 § HF).

Additionally, for this position, the following is required:

  • Doctoral degree in logistics or production technology or equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching logistics, quality, and production technology.
  • Experience in project management within education and research.
  • Experience in collaboration with industry and the surrounding community.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Desirable qualifications for the position include:

  • Previous experience in applying for and obtaining externally funded research grants.
  • Previous experience working in the manufacturing industry.

For this appointment, all assessment criteria will be applied without any order of priority.

When hiring a senior lecturer, equal care should be given to pedagogical skills as to the assessment of other qualifying conditions. In assessing skills, the subject area of the employment, subject description, and tasks will be taken into account.

Other:

This is a fixed-term employment for nine months. The position is 100% full-time. Intended start date is April 1 or by agreement. The selection process may involve trial lectures, work samples, interviews, and reference checks. Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis.
