Svartedalsskolan is a grades 4-9 school located in new, fresh facilities with innovative design.

Our school is situated in a valley free from traffic at Länsmansgården and borders a forest area. In our units, we work on language development in all subjects and conduct active value-based work linked to our approach that diversity and differences enrich.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a teacher to teach textile as well as wood and metal crafts for grades 4–9. The position is a parental leave substitute for approximately one year with a possibility of extension.

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for planning and implementing the educational work as well as documenting it. The craft teachers at the school currently have a close collaboration regarding planning, assessment, orders, and more, which you will be a part of.

With us, you will have the chance to meet students who provide you with many challenges and rewarding encounters every day. You will design the educational activities so that each student's unique conditions and abilities are taken into account and can be challenged.

Qualifications

Formal Competencies

We are looking for someone who is an educated and certified teacher with the qualifications to teach both textile and wood and metal crafts in grades 4–9. Qualification in additional subjects is an advantage. We want you to have experience working with children in need of support in a low-arousal manner. If you have knowledge and experience working with neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPF), it is a plus.

Personal Competencies

You have a well-developed communicative ability, which means you create good meetings with both individuals and groups. You bring enthusiasm and energy to the team. At our school, we value the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, so it is important that you possess this ability. Furthermore, we wish for you to inspire and motivate both yourself and your colleagues towards a shared learning experience within the team.

You should also be flexible in the face of all everyday and long-term changes that are part of the educational work. You need to have a very good ability to collaborate with your teaching colleagues as well as the engagement and willingness to help develop the school's activities. If you can also clearly articulate the goals for the educational activities and see each student's potential to reach them, we believe that you might be a good fit for this position.
