Information Security Specialist at Lerum Municipality

Today, the IT unit employs 10 staff members with various responsibilities and skills in areas such as IT security, telephony, data hardware, e-services, system management, IT infrastructure, system integrations, and M365.

The IT unit has an external IT operations partner that handles user support and system operations.

The IT unit is responsible for providing relevant resources and competencies regarding IT operations, service, support, and development concerning the municipality's IT landscape, while the departments are responsible for using relevant systems that support established processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT unit is looking for an engaged Information Security Specialist with a good technical understanding who wants to develop and drive the municipality's work in information security.

Together with skilled colleagues, you will contribute to the municipality's ability to manage the cybersecurity threats and impacts occurring in the area. You will work closely with specialists in several areas such as GDPR coordinators and lawyers, as well as IT security specialists.

You will support the municipality's operations in the work with information classification and assessment of risks and consequences related to the use of various types of IT systems.

An important part for you will be to create the right conditions in requirements specification in IT procurements and follow-up on suppliers' commitments in the field of information security.

Your role includes developing and following up on the use of the municipality's policies and guidelines regarding information security and contributing to the municipality's compliance with both current and upcoming regulations such as NIS, cybersecurity legislation, and the CER directive.

As an information security specialist with us, you will have a varied and developing assignment where you contribute to the municipality's digital development.

The role is central to the municipality's work in being a robust municipality in cybersecurity.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in IT or equivalent education.
• At least 6 years of experience in information security.
• Experience in system management and a good understanding of technical environments.
• Experience in leading, structuring, and documenting risk and impact assessments.
• Experience in developing governing documents, guidelines, and procedures.
• Experience in information classification, continuity planning, and incident management.
• Good knowledge of GDPR as well as the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act.
• Understanding of change management and anchoring processes.
• Experience from the public sector or politically governed organizations is an advantage.

• Very good ability to structure, document, and follow up on work.
• Ability to work independently both strategically and operationally.
• Broad analytical skills and good problem-solving ability.
• Interest in digitalization, technology, and monitoring in the field of information security.
• Pedagogical, unpretentious, and enjoys creating and developing contacts within your field.
• Very good ability to express yourself in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
