About the company

GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines together form Engines, and at the facility in Trollhättan, advanced parts for engines for aircraft and rockets are developed and manufactured. They also work with engine maintenance.

GKN Aerospace has production facilities in Trollhättan, Kongsberg (Norway), Mexico, and the USA. They also have an engineering office in Bangalore, India, and offices in Stockholm (Public Affairs) and Gothenburg. The headquarters for Engines is located in Trollhättan.

In the Performance & Controls department, we work with product support and development of RM12 in JAS 39 Gripen, as well as various development projects for upcoming generations of engine concepts. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be part of a wonderful team tasked with developing control systems for flying applications.

Your responsibilities

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will work in a cross-functional team responsible for designing, developing, and analyzing control systems for both existing and future engine systems. The role spans the entire development chain and includes both analytical and practical work.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Design and development of new and existing control systems

  • Modeling, simulation, and analysis of engine functions

  • Dynamic simulation and test development

  • Integration work between software, electronics, and systems

  • Technical support to internal and external customers

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is a curious and driven team player with a systems engineering holistic perspective. You are willing to take responsibility, enjoy collaboration, and naturally step forward in a leadership role when the situation requires it.

We believe you have:

  • Master's degree in mechatronics, electrical or computer engineering, or another relevant engineering education

  • Experience in modeling and simulating control systems in Matlab/Simulink

  • An analytical and meticulous work approach

  • Good communication skills and express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience in control modeling or control of other engine systems

  • Interest in and experience with programming in C++, Python, and/or Matlab

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
