ST Physician at Primary Care Center Östergötland

In Region Östergötland, 33 health centers work together to provide the best possible care for the residents of the county.

Significant investments are being made in expanded primary care, and as an ST physician with us, you will receive:

• The opportunity to complete BT training as part of your permanent employment as an ST.
• 550 residents as a full-time ST physician when you are in the middle of your ST and 1100 residents as a newly qualified specialist physician.

The Primary Care Center Östergötland consists of 33 region-run health centers, Vårdcentrum Finspång, Child Health Care Unit, 1177 and emergency centers in the evening and on weekends, and the General Medicine Education Center. We conduct a broad primary care operation where we offer care to everyone throughout life; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

Region Östergötland's ST training in general medicine is organized by the General Medicine Education Center (AMC), where study directors and education secretaries coordinate side training, arrange courses and training, and participate in the design of the ST physician's training plan. The City Health Center is region-run, centrally located in Norrköping, and currently has over 14,100 registered residents, a mixed population. The health center has a medical clinic, specialist nurse clinics, nursing clinics, child health care, psychosocial competence, foot care, and laboratory services. We are also responsible for a couple of nursing homes.

At City Health Center, we have a successful concept where general practitioners mentor less experienced colleagues. Mentors are available for questions in real-time. Currently, we have 9 permanent general practitioners and 1 professor of internal medicine. We have 7 ST physicians and several AT physicians in the system.

We are also an academic health center with several individuals engaged in research; we have long successfully worked with mental health according to the IBH concept, we have a well-functioning elderly care clinic, and we have good collaborative structures and a pleasant work climate. Job Description

We offer you a challenging and varied job. We believe you are seeking primary care because you are interested in the breadth of the specialty area of general medicine and can envision a future in primary care. As an ST physician with us, you will receive regular supervision and participate in ST meetings.

As an ST physician, you will work under supervision. At the beginning of your ST service, an education plan will be established together with you, your supervisor, the ST study director, and the operations manager. You will gradually grow into the role of a general practitioner with its various aspects and broad scope.

About You

You are a licensed physician and hold a medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare, as well as Swedish language skills corresponding to documented level C1, as you need to communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues fluently.

If you have not completed AT or have approved Basic Competence according to BT, there is an opportunity to complete BT during the first year of employment.

You have good collaboration skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You have good judgment and communicate clearly. We want you to be unpretentious and enjoy working in a team. We place great importance on personal qualities.
