Operations Technician for Wastewater Treatment Plants in Kristianstad Municipality

Your Role with Us

As an operations technician in wastewater, you will work with the operation of our sewage treatment plants and pumping stations throughout the municipality. In operations, coordinators, operations technicians, process engineers, and control and regulation technicians work closely together.

Your tasks will include monitoring operations in control systems as well as inspections at the facilities, process optimization, and follow-up in consultation with colleagues, sampling, documentation in maintenance systems, and troubleshooting. You will also perform preventive and corrective maintenance and contribute to workplace safety efforts.

With us, you will have a varied job and, based on your own responsibility, you will have the opportunity to influence the organization of the work. You will be based at the Central Treatment Plant in Kristianstad. Our working hours are 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM with some flexibility through flextime. On-call duty is included in the position.

As part of the recruitment process, a security clearance may be conducted according to the Security Protection Act.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in water and wastewater technology or equivalent experience that the employer deems comparable to education. You should have work experience from the operation of water and wastewater facilities or from the process industry that the employer considers equivalent. Electrical certification is an advantage.

You need to have good computer skills and be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. We want you to have a good ability to use digital tools as instruments in your work, for example, to control processes and document and report clearly and well-structured. A driver's license for manual transmission is required.

As a person, you are good at carefully analyzing and assessing different types of data to arrive at well-considered conclusions and create effective solutions. Following instructions, procedures, legal requirements, and safety regulations in your work is a given for you. You are good at collaborating, which means you are unpretentious, good at listening, showing empathy, and respect.

In 2024, the Central Treatment Plant in Kristianstad, one of Europe's most modern treatment plants, will be commissioned, with the capacity to allow Kristianstad to grow beyond 2050. In the Water and Wastewater Department, we work on the premise that it is a given that we work together towards set goals with care for each other and with curiosity about future needs and solutions.

The Technical Committee, through the Technical Administration, is responsible for the development, construction, and management of the municipality's public spaces and buildings. The committee is also tasked with organizing municipal water and wastewater supply (VA) and is the road authority for municipal roads.
