The ambulance service is divided into four local care areas. Since January 2022, the ambulance service has been integrated with primary care as part of the initiative Good and Close Care. Each local care area constitutes its own economic unit and is led by a manager. The ambulance service in Region Jämtland Härjedalen actively participates in the development towards close care, focusing on close collaboration with primary care. The operation includes 11 ambulance stations and a helicopter base. The county has a total of 12 ambulances with around-the-clock staffing and a helicopter that is staffed 24/7. Within the ambulance service, there is a special resource unit that functions as a staffing pool. Employees are hired to meet the needs of the operation where it is greatest but are based at the ambulance station in Östersund.

The resource unit is currently looking for two new colleagues who want to be first on the scene and make a real difference for the county's residents. We are looking for someone who wants to provide advanced medical care with great opportunities to start medical treatment right at the pickup location in case of acute illness or accident.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an ambulance nurse in Region Jämtland Härjedalen, you will perform commonly occurring tasks at an ambulance station. With employment in the ambulance resource unit, you will start from the ambulance station in Östersund but are expected to go where the need is greatest within Jämtland and Härjedalen.

The work gives you unique experiences based on the meetings and different situations you encounter. Our large and varied mission provides you as an ambulance nurse with great opportunities to develop in your profession. For us, it is important to provide adequate training to our employees. Initially, we offer you an introductory program tailored to your previous experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with specialist training in ambulance care. A driver's license with at least B category is required, but we prefer that you have a C category. It is an advantage if you have emergency driver training and experience in ambulance care. Initially, we offer you an introductory program tailored to your previous experiences.

The role requires great flexibility, the ability to work independently, teamwork skills, prioritization, and decision-making under varying and demanding conditions. You need to have good medical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and physical endurance. Physical tests are conducted upon hiring and then every three years. As an ambulance nurse, you are confident in your professional role, focus on the patient and patient safety, and have a good approach to everyone.
