District Nurse/Nurse for Home Care in Östersund

Are you a district nurse or nurse interested in a varied daytime job with attractive working conditions? Then you might be the one we want to meet!

The municipality of Östersund is now looking for a nurse or district nurse for a flexible position in home care, located in central Östersund. The central home care area includes the municipal home care groups Marielund, Erikslund, Staden Övre, and Staden Nedre.

The flexibility of the position means that you go beyond the existing staff and are booked out to the home care area where there is the greatest need at the moment. For example, you may replace regular staff during absences or provide support in a group that has a lot to do. In other words, the needs of the organization determine which citizens you will visit, and you have no fixed patient responsibility.

The position is permanent and full-time. Working hours are 08:00-17:00, and weekend work may be required (currently, your future colleagues work every 10th weekend).

Your New Job

Our goal is to provide safe and secure care to our citizens who receive support from home care. The position requires that you are confident in your professional role and self-sufficient. There are good opportunities for collegial support as the group has daily joint morning meetings and communicates by phone throughout the day as needed for consultation.

In addition to the central home care area, Östersund municipality also has an area for Torvalla and Brunflo and one for Frösön and Lit. You will primarily work in the central area and with the home care groups associated with it, but if necessary, you will also support our other home care areas.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to participate in the municipality's development work regarding routines, collaborations with the region, and with the medically responsible nurse.

Common Tasks

As a district nurse, you plan, lead, and perform the work of home care together with the teams in home care and in collaboration with health centers and specialist care. You will perform regular district nurse tasks, where common tasks include wound care and palliative care. You play an important role in educating and guiding basic staff and relatives. It is also your responsibility to assess the knowledge of basic staff and provide delegations so that staff can administer medication correctly.

In Östersund municipality, we work according to a health-promoting and rehabilitative approach. One preventive measure that all citizens can participate in is that we organize health meetings at the municipality's meeting places.
