Welcome to Bergs Municipality - Municipality of the Year 2024!

Two-thirds of our population live outside our urban areas, and we do not see the municipality's sparsity as a hindrance but as an opportunity! Here, magnificent nature is close at hand, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and an active cultural and community life. For those who want the city's offerings and communications, Östersund is just a stone's throw away. The South Sámi culture, reindeer husbandry, and language are an important part of the municipality's identity.

As an employer, all municipal operations rest on our five guiding principles: togetherness, courage, effectiveness, communication, and long-term thinking. Our guiding principles are designed to be our compass and guidance, always promoting trust and a good organizational culture with the citizen in focus.

At bergsliv.se, we have gathered inspiring reports about people living in the municipality and facts about our urban areas. Welcome to find your dream life with us in Bergs Municipality!

We accept your job application digitally via our recruitment system. If you have protected personal information, you should not send your application via the recruitment system. Instead, contact the HR consultant via switchboard 0687-161 00, and you will receive assistance on how to apply for a job safely. We kindly ask for no contact from staffing and recruitment companies or job advertisement sellers.

We are now looking for more substitutes for our wonderful special accommodations ahead of summer 2026!

As a summer substitute in elderly care in Bergs Municipality, you will be an important piece of the puzzle in supporting and serving our elderly citizens. The role of a substitute is crucial for our operations to run around the clock, every day of the year. Together with your colleagues, you will have a meaningful job with high flexibility, and there is the possibility to combine work in nursing homes with home care or cleaning services.

We offer a summer bonus for those who work at least 75% for a minimum of 8 weeks.

Job Responsibilities

As a substitute in elderly care in Berg, you will be employed at the respective unit. The work as a substitute includes care and social services based on a salutogenic approach. This means that you help people living in our special accommodations. For example: dressing, preparing meals, serving, hygiene, and cleaning. Tasks delegated by licensed health and medical personnel may also be relevant, such as administering medication. Collaboration is a very important part of your work, as you share responsibility with many other colleagues for the services granted to each individual.

We operate in the following locations in the municipality:

  • The Dalsätra nursing home in Myrviken
  • The Tallgläntan nursing home in Hackås
  • The Vallmogården nursing home, which also has short-term accommodation in Svenstavik
  • The Östgärde nursing home in Rätan
  • The Treklövern nursing home in Åsarna

And now we are looking for more substitutes for our operations, we hope you apply and become our new colleague!

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

The need for substitutes exists in several of our units, and we welcome you regardless of whether you have previous education or experience in care and support. If you are a nursing assistant or have previous experience as a caregiver, we see it as a positive but not necessary! The most important thing for us is you as a person, especially that you are effective and professional in your work approach, and that you are good at communicating and have an easy time collaborating. To be considered as a substitute in care and support, you must be at least 18 years old and be able to express yourself and understand Swedish well in both speech and writing. The ability to work evenings and weekends at certain times is a requirement. We consider it an advantage if you have education and/or previous experience in elderly care.

Bergs Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we therefore see it as an advantage if you have knowledge of the South Sámi language and culture.

Recruitment Process

We work with an electronic substitute procurement system, Time Pool, which means you must have internet access for us to offer you work. You are responsible for entering the times you can work and responding to inquiries as quickly as possible. Being a substitute can mean that the need for work can change rapidly.

We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible. If we assess that your application is interesting, you will be contacted by us to schedule an interview. The interview may be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams. Otherwise, feedback will be provided via email. For questions about the recruitment process, please feel free to contact our administrators; their contact details are provided below via our switchboard.

We Offer

A varied and flexible job with either hourly or monthly employment where you can make a difference for others - every day! If you are employed monthly and have worked at least 75% for a minimum of 8 weeks during 1/6-31/8, you will also receive a summer bonus of 10,000 SEK (before tax), provided that these criteria are met.
