Job Responsibilities

The kitchen in Alterdalen is a preparation kitchen where breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served daily to about 30 children and staff. The kitchen is equipped for household use. In the kitchen, you work alone but in close collaboration with the educational activities.

Your responsibilities include preparing and serving the daily lunch options, preparing a varied salad buffet, as well as preparing breakfast and snacks. For all meals, options adapted for any allergies must also be prepared. You are responsible for safe food handling, self-control, good hygiene, dishwashing, and cleaning in the kitchen and dining area. Cleaning of the preschool is included in the position. Ordering goods through e-commerce according to applicable agreements and within the established budget is part of the job. Daily dialogue with both educators and children occurs; therefore, a good attitude is crucial.

Qualifications

Restaurant education at the high school level or equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer and/or documented experience as a cook in large kitchens and/or restaurants. Sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, for safe handling in large kitchens. The job requires good physical fitness in terms of strength, endurance, and mobility. Computer skills and knowledge of programs used in the profession are advantageous.

You have good knowledge of:

• The hot kitchen, focusing on food cooked from scratch
• Raw materials
• Special diets
• Self-control, hygiene, cleaning
• Ergonomic work in the operation

We are looking for someone who can adapt the work to the needs of the operation and has a holistic view of the assignment. You are professional and service-oriented and responsive to guests' wishes. You are used to organizing and performing your work independently and actively contribute to a good working climate and exchange of experiences both within the workgroup and with other professional groups.

More about the position

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with a holiday service, Monday to Friday. Start date is 2/3–2026 or as agreed.
