About Piteå Parish

Piteå Parish stretches from forest landscapes to vast archipelago. A parish with nearly 20,000 members and over 55 employees. The parish includes five churches, of which two are cooperative churches with EFS, five chapels, and eight burial sites, of which five are active. Piteå Parish is an active and engaged part of the Church of Sweden. We have a strong community engagement and collaborate closely with schools and other actors. Our activities, based on the core values of presence, openness, and hope, are conducted for people of all ages. We work long-term with sustainability, diversity, and inclusion – and strive to be a parish in constant development.

During the summer, Öjeby Church Town is a popular destination for locals and tourists.

Here, Piteå Parish operates a café and this summer we are looking for two café hosts and one head café host.

Café Host (2 positions)

Responsibilities:

  • Baking, dishwashing, serving, cash handling, and cleaning.
  • Welcoming visitors and creating a friendly atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Responsible and able to take initiative.
  • Familiar with and supportive of the Church of Sweden's values.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
  • Previous experience in a service role is advantageous.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Head Café Host (1 position)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the café, café hosts, and guides.
  • Responsible for scheduling and some planning of operations.
  • Participate in staff meetings with regular staff and be the link to your group of café hosts and guides.
  • Baking, dishwashing, serving, cash handling, and cleaning.
  • Welcoming visitors and creating a friendly atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Responsible and able to take initiative.
  • Familiar with and supportive of the Church of Sweden's values.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
  • Previous experience in a service role is advantageous.

Conditions and Employment Period for All Positions

  • Working hours: 100%, 40 hours per week, some work in the evenings and weekends may occur.
  • Period: June 17 – July 31.
  • A criminal record check will be requested before employment.
  • Salary and compensation: According to collective agreement.
