MRC Bemanning is looking for experienced chefs for our staffing pool within the grocery retail sector. We specialize in providing competent staff to our customers in store kitchens.

Job Description:

As a chef, you will work on preparing both hot and cold dishes that will be sold over the counter in the store. You will also be involved in catering, grilling, and making your own spreads, etc.

As a chef, you will also work to reduce food waste in the store by working with products that have a short shelf life. You will also work with the store's own ingredients to create an inspiring and sales-oriented department.

This requires working at a fast pace and having the ability to prioritize what needs to be done. As a chef, you will be part of a team working in the kitchen and to some extent in the manual delicatessen.

Personal Qualities:

You who are applying need to have a burning interest in cooking and have good knowledge of food handling to thrive in this role. You need to be used to working at a fast pace together with a tight team, have the ability to see what needs to be done, and be able to prioritize.

Qualifications:

Requirements

• Experience working as a chef

• Knowledge of food hygiene

• Knowledge of self-control

• Experience working in restaurant kitchens and/or store kitchens

Meritorious

• Experience working in a grocery store

• Trained chef

Salary according to agreement, start as soon as possible.

Employment Type:

The position is a needs-based employment that requires you to have another primary occupation of at least 50%. Another primary occupation can be studies of at least 50%, own business, elite athlete, or retirement. You will also need to provide proof of your primary occupation before any employment for this position.

As a needs-based employee at MRC Bemanning, you will enter the hours you can and want to work on a weekly basis. Working hours are varying store hours where you should be able to work both morning and evening at least 2-3 days a week. Your schedule will include both pre-booked shifts and urgent shifts that come in the same day.
