In the autumn of 2022, JENSEN School opened a brand new school in Tungelsta, Haninge municipality. The school is located in a beautiful rural environment with a small-town feel.

About the Position

In our school kitchen, we prepare about 1200 meals daily, with approximately 700 served on-site and 500 delivered to other JENSEN schools. We are now looking for a head chef. The role of the head chef involves leading the work in the kitchen and having overall responsibility for transportation, as well as supervising meal assistants in the receiving kitchens.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a burning interest in good, varied, and healthy food from scratch. You want to give children and students the opportunity for new taste experiences and a feeling that food is both fun and delicious, playing an important role in our health!

The work in the kitchen is both independent and social. You are involved in cooking and are out in the dining room to talk about the food in an engaging way! You are an important person both for the kitchen in Tungelsta and a vital part of JENSEN kitchen. As a leader, you are clear, creative, and solution-focused. You are responsible and easily communicate with both children and adults. Previous experience in leading work in a large kitchen is an advantage. You actively work to reduce food waste and develop JENSEN's school meals.

We are looking for an ambitious head chef with good leadership skills and a positive approach to managing work. Your background includes at least a 3-year high school diploma in the food program / chef education with at least five years of experience in the profession. In your role as head chef, you drive your team forward and handle orders while ensuring that guidelines within the operational area are followed. You are responsible for ensuring that work related to self-control and HACCP is conducted according to laws and regulations.

You should have knowledge of special diets, safe food, and the requirements of the school law regarding nutritious food. You will create a developing and sustainable work environment in the kitchen within set frameworks.

You need to have a good overall understanding and see good service to diners as a given. We expect you to see and meet colleagues and diners in a pleasant and professional manner. Personal suitability will be highly valued. You also need to have good computer skills to use internal documents in daily work and to approve your employees' salaries and financial follow-ups, etc.

What We Offer

As a head chef with us, you have a free and independent assignment within our frameworks; you write the menu together with our other head chefs based on existing guidelines. You and your team prepare lunch and snacks and manage the kitchen. We offer work clothes and wellness benefits.

Employment Form

The position is full-time and is a permanent employment with an initial 6-month probationary period. Placement at JENSEN School Kitchen Tungelsta. Start date according to agreement.
