ABOUT GRAND HÔTEL: Grand Hôtel is a classic landmark in the heart of central Stockholm. As one of Scandinavia's leading five-star luxury hotels, Grand Hôtel combines a rich history with continuous development and refinement. We are now looking for a passionate and experienced Pastry Sous Chef who will play a key role in our journey to put Grand Hôtel's pastry department on the map and make it iconic.
ABOUT THE ROLE In the role of Pastry Sous Chef at Grand Hôtel, your main task will be to actively participate in the development of a new and innovative concept for the pastry department. We are making a significant investment in our pastry operations, which means that you, along with the other sous chef, Assistant Head Pastry Chef, and Head Pastry Chef, will work intensively to develop and coach the team through this journey.
Your closest colleagues will be a dedicated team of pastry chefs, whom you will be responsible for coaching, inspiring, and leading during shifts.
Your main responsibilities include:
Being the extended arm of the team leadership: Ensuring that our high standards are adhered to and that the department operates both proactively and cohesively.
Strong organizational skills: Ensuring well-functioning inventory levels and planning and optimizing production in the short and long term.
Having a strong focus on quality: Ensuring that pastries maintain a high and consistent standard.
Being reliable: Ensuring that deadlines are met, taking responsibility for any mistakes, and acting solution-oriented.
Continuously developing and training the team: Establishing sustainable working methods, leading by example, and developing the pastry chefs' ability to work independently.
Ensuring that the department follows all environmental and hygiene standards (HACCP).

Furthermore, we also see that you have:
At least 5 years of experience as a pastry chef, with a solid background in pastry craftsmanship and documented experience in creating high-quality desserts and pastries.
Formal culinary or pastry education and experience from five-star establishments are advantageous.
Experience in a similar role with team leadership responsibilities is advantageous.
Ability to work according to a rotating schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Fluent in both Swedish and English; additional language skills are advantageous.
WE OFFER:
A permanent full-time position with a six-month probationary period.
