Do you want to work with the commissioning of advanced electrical systems and take on significant technical responsibility in international projects? We are now looking for a commissioning engineer to a global technical service organization where practical work, technical problem-solving, and independence are central parts of the role.
Here you will have a field-oriented position with a high technical level, great personal responsibility, and the opportunity to work in various environments with customers around the world.
About the roleAs a commissioning engineer, you will work with the commissioning, testing, and verification of large electrical machines and associated systems.
You will be responsible for planning, leading, and executing commissioning on-site at the customer, in close collaboration with operators and internal specialists. The role means that you are often the main technical representative on-site and make decisions regarding functionality, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
The work is project-based and characterized by variation – each assignment involves new technical conditions, new environments, and new challenges. The role suits you who enjoy practical work in the field, working hands-on with equipment, and solving problems where they arise.
You will be part of a service and maintenance organization with international deliveries and report to a field service function.
Requirements and backgroundQualifications
Technical background in electrical engineering, power engineering, automation, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working with electrical systems in the field, production, or industrial environments.
Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for technical deliveries to the customer.
Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively for work.
Meritorious
Experience with power systems.
Experience with PLC and programming.
Experience with relay protection or relay technology.
Experience with rotating electrical machines, such as generators or motors.
Knowledge of Swedish.
As a person, you are technically driven, structured, and solution-oriented. You are confident in technical discussions with customers and find it easy to collaborate with different types of people.
You thrive in international contexts, handle new environments with professionalism, and see travel as a natural and stimulating part of the job. You are flexible, responsible, and comfortable working independently during longer assignments on-site at the customer.
Other informationThe role involves a lot of travel with work in international projects.
Travel approximately 150–200 days per year
On-site assignments are usually 2–8 weeks
Between longer assignments, there is often the opportunity for longer continuous leave
Start: Immediately Location: Västerås Scope: Full-time Employment form: You will work as a consultant for 12 months with the ambition to then be directly employed by the customer.
