Do you want to spend your summer with us? With us, you will have an educational, fun, and exciting time.

We offer a structured introduction with designated mentors. Your tasks will include nursing with standard nursing assistant duties in an intensive care unit where monitoring and documentation of vital parameters and care of severely ill patients are a significant part of the work. Patient-related cleaning also occurs daily. You will work in a team with close collaboration with nurses, doctors, and physiotherapists.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant or you who are studying to become a doctor or nurse and can work during the summer of 2025.

As a medical student, you must have completed semester 5, and as a nursing student, you should have completed semester 4.

Work experience from an emergency hospital is an advantage.

Good ability to communicate both in writing and verbally in Swedish, as well as a genuine interest in nursing work.

Your personal qualities

We value personal maturity, accuracy, humility, and a good attitude towards our patients and your colleagues. As a person, you are engaged, positive, and attentive to the needs of patients. You can work structured and have the ability to prioritize your tasks when needed. Rapid changes in pace place high demands on good teamwork, so good collaboration skills within the team are important.

Employment form

Hourly employment 80-100% of a 40-hour work week and work during 2 or 3 shifts, i.e., day, evening, weekend, and as needed night shifts, as well as every other weekend. We would like you to start your training in the spring, and you should be trained and ready by week 24 and then work during weeks 25-34.

About the operation

The area of Anesthesia and Intensive Care is characterized by high quality and a stable employee group in all professions. In addition to anesthesia, which consists of four operating departments within surgery/urology, orthopedics, gynecology/obstetrics, day surgery, as well as ENT and dental anesthesia and external operations, the area has postoperative departments, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Pain Clinic, National Respiratory Center (NRC), and Sterile Technology. We are a large area with about 400 employees. Annually, about 24,000 anesthetics are performed in about 25 operating rooms. Our mission also includes education, clinical research, and development.
