AFRY Process Industries is growing – and we are now looking for experienced piping, mechanical, or plant designers within Plant Design for our teams in Luleå and Piteå.

We work closely with the process industry in areas such as:

  • Mining & Metals
  • Pulp & Paper
  • Chemicals & Biorefining
  • Batteries, Power-to-X, and other future areas

With us, you will work on projects that span the entire lifecycle of the plant – from early studies to implementation, assembly, and commissioning.

 

Your tasks may include:

As a piping & plant designer

  • Design within piping, HVAC, and plant layout
  • Detail design in both smaller and larger assignments
  • The role of lead designer with responsibility for coordination and follow-up
  • Participation in feasibility studies, pre-projects, implementation, and assembly coordination

 

As a mechanical designer

  • Mechanical design of industrial facilities
  • Investigation, sizing, calculations, and modeling
  • Preparation of inquiry and manufacturing documentation
  • Client support and technical documentation

Qualifications

We believe you are a person who thrives in collaboration with others and enjoys taking responsibility – both technically and in the relationship with the client.

We hope you have:

  • University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Pipe & Plant Design, mechanical design, or similar – preferably within the process industry
  • Good knowledge of relevant standards and directives
  • Experience working in various CAD environments
  • Good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Driver's license and flexibility for on-site client assignments

Meritorious

  • Several years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience as a project manager or lead designer
  • Established network of clients and suppliers in the region
