Rock Mechanics Operator for Rock Mechanics in Malmberget

In this role, you will be involved in developing and implementing rock mechanics methods and ensuring a stable and safe working environment for the mine and its personnel.

Your Role

As a Rock Mechanics Operator for Rock Mechanics, you will share responsibility for the rock mechanics work in our underground mine in Malmberget. You will work in a section with 14 employees consisting of rock mechanics and technicians. You will collaborate with both internal/external and group-wide units within Rock Mechanics.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing rock mechanics methods to support safe and efficient mining.
• Monitoring seismic systems, rock reinforcement plans, mining sequences, damage mapping, within these areas.
• Operationally supporting the business with monitoring and managing rock mechanics deviations.
• Collaborating with internal/external and driving the section forward.
• Cooperating with other parts of the mine within LKAB.
• Contributing to strategic decisions within the mine.

What You Bring

In the role of rock mechanics operator, you take responsibility for ensuring that the work is carried out carefully, safely, and according to plan. You are structured, goal-oriented, and handle rock mechanics challenges with a practical and analytical approach. Through good collaboration with both colleagues and other functions, you contribute to an efficient and safe mining operation.

We see that you have:

• Relevant YH, college, or university education. Preferably with a focus on rock mechanics. Or several years of experience in rock work, preferably in preparation/rock reinforcement.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license for manual transmission.
• A strong network and good contacts within industry forums or similar are meritorious.
