Due to an upcoming parental leave, the purchasing department in Malmö needs to strengthen its team with an Operational Purchaser. The position is a parental leave cover that extends until August 2027.
About the Role
Based at Brenntag's Swedish headquarters in Malmö, as an Operational Purchaser, you will work on a Nordic level, with a special focus on Norway, making purchases for both internal warehouses as well as direct purchases for customers. You will be responsible for a product portfolio in close collaboration with the product manager. Based on specified material lists and order points, you will proactively ensure that the right quantity and product are available in stock for the products in your portfolio. For more complex purchases, you will maintain close communication with the product managers who make decisions regarding quantity, product, and price. It is important that you have a strategic mindset in your work, being quick to capture changes in stock levels and to communicate these with your product manager. This is a role where you will have multiple points of contact both externally and internally, and collaboration with other departments such as sales and finance is a daily occurrence.
More concretely, the position includes:
- Purchasing materials from a large number of global suppliers
- Updating and maintaining master data documents
- Collaborating closely with colleagues and departments internally
About You
To thrive and succeed in the role of Operational Purchaser, you need to have strong communication skills and a natural confidence in your working style. You navigate smoothly between different departments and teams, and you are not afraid to share ideas or escalate a question when necessary. There is a lot of information and details to keep track of, so you have a meticulous approach to your work, leaving nothing to chance. You enjoy a varied workday, where both the pace and tasks can change quickly, and where collaboration is key to success.
The following are requirements for the position:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as purchasing, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent
- Work experience in purchasing, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent
- Familiarity with working in an ERP system
- Fluent in Swedish and English
Meritorious:
- Knowledge of Norwegian or any of the other Nordic languages
Other Information
Start: April 1
Location: Malmö, Hyllie
Extent: Full-time
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30
Salary: Fixed salary according to agreement
