About the Workplace

At the Faculty of Social Sciences' administrative office, Kansli S, we are about 50 employees, located in the Old Surgery building in the Paradis area, right in the heart of Lund.

We provide qualified operational support for faculty management and the faculty's departments in education, management support, research, HR, finance, and communication. Our work is characterized by independence, high engagement, and responsibility with great trust from management. We enjoy challenging ourselves and thinking innovatively, with ongoing development work.

The position is located at the International Department within Kansli S. The department is responsible for planning and coordinating international student exchanges and faculty-wide English-language education and courses at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. The department provides advice and support on internationalization issues to faculty management and departments and proposes strategic directions for the faculty's internationalization efforts.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility

As an assistant, the tasks may vary and should provide insight into the academic world. Your main tasks:

  • Administration related to outgoing exchange students
  • Certificates for students
  • Ladok administration
  • Temporary support and assistance at student events
  • If necessary, assist with other administrative tasks

Additional tasks may be added, and your tasks may vary throughout the year, depending on current needs.

Qualifications

Eligible for employment as an assistant is someone who is actively studying at the undergraduate or advanced level at Lund University and has completed approved studies equivalent to at least 60 higher education credits.

Requirements for the position are that you:

  • are admitted to a program in humanities, theology, economics, or law.
  • are on track with your studies
  • have very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written forms
  • have very good knowledge of English in both spoken and written forms
  • have excellent administrative skills
  • have the ability to work independently
  • personal qualities required are teamwork ability, attention to detail, and communication skills

Meritorious qualifications for employment include:

  • Experience working with educational administration
  • Experience working in the Ladok system
  • Knowledge of student mobility
  • Additional language skills

Other

The positions are temporary from 2026-02-16 to 2026-06-30 (or by agreement) and involve a scope of 20% of full-time.

Regulations regarding educational employment as an assistant are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. The position is covered by the flex-time agreement.
