Specialist Doctor in General Medicine at Jakobsbergs University Health Center

We are looking for a specialist doctor in general medicine for a combined position – clinical work and educational assignments within the area of Cancer in primary care at Jakobsbergs University Health Center.

Jakobsbergs University Health Center is part of SLSO, Stockholm County's healthcare area. We are located at Jakobsberg Hospital, within walking distance from Jakobsberg Center, 18 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm city.

We are a pleasant workplace with about 50 employees from various professions. We have approximately 13,200 listed patients and are one of the larger health centers in the region.

About the Position

We are looking for a specialist doctor in general medicine for a new combined position – clinical work and educational assignments.

As a specialist doctor in general medicine, you will perform standard tasks within primary care. You will meet patients of all ages and from different cultures and mentor future colleagues. The work requires broad medical competence, independence, and good collaboration skills with various professional groups.

We are a University Health Center, which means that we have responsibilities for the education of healthcare personnel within certain areas of expertise. At Jakobsbergs University Health Center, we focus on the areas of Cancer in Primary Care (CaPrim), Neurological Diseases, and Pain and Elderly Health.

In addition to the clinical work, you will have the opportunity to be part of an educational team for CaPrim. Doctors within CaPrim are responsible, together with the CaPrim team, for the development, coordination, and implementation of educational initiatives related to primary care and cancer. The assignment aims to strengthen knowledge, improve early detection, and contribute to higher quality in primary care's cancer-related work, including preparing and delivering lectures to primary care staff.

As a doctor in CaPrim, you will also become a process leader for primary care within the Regional Cancer Center Stockholm Gotland. The assignment aims to strengthen the primary care perspective and improve transitions between primary and secondary care, as well as being responsible for updating and developing cancer documents on VISS.

The entire educational assignment comprises about 30–50% of the position for a limited period, with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed physician with specialist competence in general medicine
  • Experience working in primary care
  • Familiarity with the TakeCare journal system
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Interest in healthcare development, project management, and education

Meritorious:

  • Experience in research or knowledge management
  • Pedagogical competence

We are looking for someone who is engaged, secure in their professional role, and has good collaboration skills. You are driven, structured, goal-oriented, and capable of executing projects. We prefer candidates with an interest in developing cancer care or elderly health within primary care. The work is aligned with knowledge management, and you need to have a pedagogical talent and enjoy working in teams and building networks to succeed in the assignment. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Employment Type:

Permanent full-time employment (100%) as a specialist doctor. The educational assignment comprises about 30–50% of the position. A probationary period may apply.

Start date: by agreement.

  • In addition to Swedish professional licensing, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
