The Role of Occupational Therapist with Us

As an occupational therapist in municipal home healthcare in Kungsbacka, you work to promote the individual's independence and quality of life in their own home. You make assessments, plan and implement interventions that support the person's ability to manage daily life – everything from training, guidance of care staff, prescription of assistive devices, and adaptation of the environment. You collaborate closely with physiotherapists, nurses, and other professionals in the team, and have a significant responsibility for creating safety and continuity for our residents. The work is independent and varied, with great freedom to plan your day. You meet people in different life situations and have the opportunity to make a real difference – every day.

In this position, you are the patient-responsible occupational therapist within home healthcare. You work closely with a physiotherapist, where you together are responsible for rehabilitation efforts within a geographical area. The role means that you have overall responsibility for occupational therapy assessments and interventions for patients in regular housing/special housing, and you are an important part of creating continuity and safety in care.

You actively contribute to the development of the team and collaborate with other professions to ensure good and cohesive care. The work is independent but also team-oriented, with a strong focus on collaboration and joint learning.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in people and a professional approach in all situations. You are attentive to the individual's needs and show care and respect in your work. As an occupational therapist with us, you have a significant responsibility, and we see that you are confident in your professional role, goal-oriented, and able to prioritize when the workday presents variation and rapid changes.

You are flexible and easily adapt to different tasks and collaboration situations. We value that you take initiative, contribute to development, and see opportunities in everyday life. Working in a team is a given for you, and you have a good ability to communicate and collaborate with other professionals. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for you who:

• are a licensed occupational therapist
• hold a B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have:

• previous experience of working in municipal health and medical care
• previous experience of guidance/training of care staff
• documented knowledge of manual transfers and/or transfer with patient lifts
