Portfolio Manager for Development Portfolio

Do you want to be the hub that connects our development portfolio and ensures that our investments create real impact? We are looking for a portfolio manager for a one-year interim position that combines strategic sharpness with operational capability and thrives in a role where the whole, interaction, and direction are central.

Your Task

The assignment as portfolio manager is an interim role for those who want to accelerate our development work during the period the regular portfolio manager is on parental leave. As the Portfolio Manager for the Development Portfolio, you will report to the Head of the Development and Digitalization business area.

In this role, you will translate our development strategy into a concrete and manageable development portfolio. You will ensure that initiatives contribute to the right sub-goals in the development roadmap and that the balance between goals, focus areas, and capacity is maintained. You will highlight the consequences of new initiatives and help the organization understand what needs to be prioritized and what risks being sidelined.

• You will drive the portfolio with a focus on flow, pace, and impact by:
• Ensuring high development speed and that the portfolio creates value
• Anticipating obstacles and escalating them in time
• Initiating reprioritizations, pauses, or closures when the impact is lacking
• Following up on effects (not just deliveries)
• Maintaining balance between sub-goals, focus areas, and capacity

You work with a clear holistic perspective and create transparency in the connection between goals, initiatives, resources, and effects. The role requires endurance, structure, and the ability to be a neutral enabler who is not perceived as a representative of individual departments or agendas.

Your Team

A central part of the role is to facilitate collaboration between our roles and forums. You will be the hub that connects the whole in everyday life and creates conditions for partnerships rather than transactions.

You will collaborate closely with:

• The Development Council – where you ensure advice, anchoring, and quality in the preparation
• The Management Group for Development and Digitalization – where you prepare decision-making materials that enable clear decisions and highlight consequences
• Sub-goal owners – whom you support in accountability, follow-up, and prioritization

You build trust with the CDO, sub-goal owners, and other key individuals, and lead through collaboration.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree, preferably in Industrial Economics or Economics, who can translate strategy into concrete development power. You have a good understanding of development strategy, roadmaps, and portfolio processes, including effect retrieval.

You are neutral, holistic, and comfortable in complex environments with many dependencies. You build trust quickly and create structure even when circumstances change.

We believe you have experience in:

• Goal management, portfolio management, or portfolio analysis
• Working closely with management in development or change work
• Cross-functional development work across projects, teams, and business boundaries
• Business and operational development
• Driving larger complex change initiatives
• Agile working methods, traditional projects, and line operations

Experience as a line manager in development operations, working with digital analysis and visualization tools, as well as experience with GE, is advantageous.
