Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer position as a treatment assistant at SiS Vemyra in Sollefteå.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines on the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, and you are the foundation of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good therapeutic relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth and clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a schedule of day - evening and weekend.

As a summer substitute at SiS Vemyra in Sollefteå, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this*. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care.
• Driver's license B.
• Good Swedish in speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience from client-facing positions in the Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer.
• Security guard training.
• Experience from client-facing positions at the Migration Agency, e.g., caseworker at the detention center.
• Education in care and nursing.
• Experience working with our target group of young boys.

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, a great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good therapeutic relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed summer substitutes for more than four weeks will receive a bonus. The position is a fixed-term employment from June to August.
