We are currently looking for a structured, analytical, and collaborative troubleshooter/technician for a full-time position at Alstom. Your future role
You will report to Cengiz Dogan (Customer Site Manager) and work together in a group with competent and engaged colleagues who will help you integrate into the work and team in the best way. The tasks are varied and include warranty repairs, troubleshooting, modifications, and commissioning of Zefiro X80 vehicles. Currently, we work during the day but may occasionally work at night when we conduct vehicle tests. – Perform system tests on the vehicles.
You will, among other things:
- Perform troubleshooting and warranty repairs of Zefiro vehicles.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of vehicles according to instructions.
- Handle technical investigations.
- Manage reporting of field data and other administration of forms, etc.
- Support validation of maintenance documentation.
- Stay updated on changes in maintenance documentation.
- Complete vehicles for delivery to the customer.
To be authorized as a train technician, our employees need to complete Alstom's internal training program with a passing result. This training is conducted during regular working hours and at no cost.
Who are you?
To succeed as a troubleshooter and technician, you need to have strong technical competence and an eye for detail.
You need to be structured and enjoy working according to clear processes. We also believe that you enjoy working towards deadlines to get the trains out on time. You are good at organizing and planning your work well.
We also believe you are analytical and enjoy performing technical troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems. Furthermore, it is important that you are meticulous and have a high sense of responsibility, as work as a troubleshooter has a direct impact on the safety and health of all passengers. Good communication skills and teamwork ability are also important as you work together with other technicians and staff at our depot.
To succeed in the role:
We value passion and attitude over experience. That is why we do not expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we have listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- Education/experience or a strong passion for vehicle electronics, vehicle technology, and troubleshooting.
- Experience or understanding of troubleshooting in the aviation, industrial, or automotive industry or similar where repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and digital control systems are part of your everyday life.
- We prefer that you are used to assembling electrical and mechanical components according to drawings and instructions.
- If you have good knowledge of electricity, that is a big plus.
- Work experience with heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses is a big plus.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and the ability to solve complex problems is meritorious.
- Familiarity with the railway industry is meritorious.
- You read and speak both English and Swedish fluently.
- Interested in software (understanding how logical functions are built within software, software uploads, etc.).
As the tasks are significant for traffic safety, a passed medical examination is required before any employment can begin, which Alstom will arrange.
