Job Description for the Kitchen Assistant at Norlandia Preschools Björnö
We view our chefs and kitchen assistants as fantastic resources that add value and enjoyment to the operation and the meals. To create joy in food and a good experience, the focus is on the entire meal. As a kitchen assistant at Trollbäcken, you will be responsible, together with the chef, for preparing nutritious and tasty meals.
In your role as a kitchen assistant, you are confident in your role and easily create positive contacts with both colleagues, children, and guardians. You see the meal as an important part of the children's educational development and are engaged in contributing to their experience of food and meal activities.
We value a solution-oriented and flexible attitude, as you as a kitchen assistant with us need to adapt to changes and challenges in everyday life. Good communication skills are also an important quality, as you need to ensure that information is effectively communicated.
As a person, you enjoy working in a team with the chef but also see the importance of collaborating closely with the preschool's educators. You meet challenges with joy and drive, and you are happy to take extra responsibility to enhance the meal experience. You also care about building relationships with both children and educators.
We want to establish lifelong positive food experiences for the children in our preschools and spark children's curiosity about exciting flavors and develop their sensory abilities. This means that we sometimes challenge the children regarding menu choices and seasoning.
Examples of common tasks
Preparation and serving of all meals at the preschool together with the chef.
Cleaning according to cleaning routines and dishwashing.
Preparation of special diets.
Baking bread and cooking.
Daily work with self-control/HACCP/Requirements
Participate in the further development of our meal concept Mat med Smak.

Qualifications and personal qualities
We see that you have a high school education in restaurant and large kitchen or equivalent work experience.
Training in self-control and food hygiene.
When working in a preschool, a current extract from the police's criminal record is required to be presented at the interview.
Good knowledge in preparing special diets
You are a confident and responsible person who has an approach and interaction with both large and small that aligns well with the preschool's values.
You are solution-oriented, positive, and a driven person with ambitions and joy in your work!
You enjoy taking responsibility and find it easy to collaborate with your colleagues.
You are an engaged and positive person who can build trust with children and guardians.
You also have a good ability to communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing.

Additional information
Employment type: Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period
Scope: 50%
Working hours: Daytime
Start date: As agreed
We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Upon employment, an extract from the criminal record is required.
If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
