The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Bup) inpatient care in Malmö operates regionally with a target group of children and adolescents up to 18 years old. Here, specialized inpatient care is provided in three departments and one clinic, all of which are open around the clock.

At the Bup emergency department and emergency clinic, we meet children and young people who need urgent psychiatric care. We are open 24/7 and receive patients from all over Skåne in cases such as acute risk of suicide, life-threatening eating disorders, acute symptoms of mania, delusions, or psychosis. Much of the work involves listening and being present, and here you will use all your skills in meeting each young person and quickly build an alliance to meet the child where they are. Your contribution makes a significant difference.

In the emergency department, we have six care places. On the department, we work with acute care, crisis processing, diagnostics, pharmacological treatments, and short support interventions, both individually and for families. In the emergency clinic, we triage acute patients via phone or on-site. Our team consists of nurses, nursing assistants, family therapists, doctors, psychologists, social workers, coordinators, secretaries, and unit managers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work with us who are passionate about emergency care? We now have the opportunity to welcome three nurses to our team! The positions are permanent with placements in the emergency department and the emergency clinic.

As a nurse in the department, you have a leading role regarding psychiatric and somatic care. You will perform standard nursing tasks such as sampling, medication management, and documentation. You will participate in rounds and have psychoeducational conversations with the youth and their relatives. In the emergency clinic, you will work, among other things, with triaging acute patients.

As a new employee with us, you will receive a thorough introduction based on your previous experiences and knowledge, to help you settle into the work and get to know the organization, colleagues, and guidelines as well as possible. During the introduction, you will also have the opportunity to make various study visits and you will be assigned a mentor who will be a close support to you. You will be introduced to the work and shadow your colleagues for as long as you need. Every other week, an external supervisor leads the team in the emergency department through various patient work processes, allowing us to discuss different dilemmas.

The working hours are scheduled during the day and evening between 06:45-21:30, on weekdays as well as weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. We prefer candidates with experience in psychiatric work. If you also have specialized training in psychiatry, we consider it an advantage for the position, as well as if you have training in CBT level 1. Furthermore, it is beneficial if you have experience with the documentation program Melior.

To succeed in the role, it is essential that you are stable and have the ability to remain calm in situations that require it. Furthermore, you are empathetic with a professional attitude and have the ability to see the whole around an individual. Our unit is characterized by collaboration, joy at work, and collegiality, and we see that your engagement and positive attitude contribute to a daily life where we all help each other, share experiences, and adhere to Region Skåne's values. Additionally, you should be development-oriented, engaged, and good at building good relationships. You should have experience and interest in working both independently and as part of a team.
