Sports Facility Worker for Hagsätra IP and Älvsjö IP

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Through us at the Sports Administration, we create conditions for all Stockholmers to be physically active. We open the city as an arena and offer Stockholmers a wide variety of sports and exercise opportunities for a more active lifestyle. All work at the Sports Administration is based on our three core values: welcoming – trustworthy – forward-thinking. Welcome to an active and versatile workplace!

Welcome to us

Do you want to make a difference for the health and well-being of Stockholmers? Do you thrive in a close-knit community and team spirit? Do you enjoy variation, where no day is like the other? Then this could be the workplace for you! We welcome your application.

We offer our visitors a welcoming, accessible, and well-functioning sports facility with grass pitches, athletics areas, an ice rink, and outdoor gym.

Hagsätra IP and Älvsjö IP belong to the Sports Facilities Southeast area. We are a team of 35 employees. Hagsätra IP currently consists of two artificial turf pitches, athletics areas, and an outdoor gym. A combined ice and sports hall is also under construction at Hagsätra IP. Älvsjö IP currently consists of four artificial turf pitches, a multi-sport area for football, and an outdoor gym. Both facilities have the capacity to accommodate many visitors, school classes, and associations.

Your role

As a Sports Facility Worker, you represent our organization and are the face of our hospitality and service. You, along with your colleagues, are also responsible for maintaining artificial and natural grass pitches, cleaning activity areas and facilities, as well as caring for and maintaining ice rinks and ski trails. The work is flexible and varied, where you work both indoors and outdoors. During a workday, you meet many people whom you help and support in various ways. This may involve guiding children to the right changing rooms, providing support to organizers during ongoing events, or ensuring that all visitors feel welcome and are greeted by a clean facility in top condition.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who enjoys providing good service, has good communication skills, and is ready to take on new tasks with enthusiasm. We see you as an initiator with a solution-focused mindset who enjoys collaborating and working independently. Your unpretentious attitude, curiosity, and being an obvious part of the team are what we value the most.

We are looking for someone with a B driver's license for manual transmission, a high school education or equivalent skills, and basic computer knowledge. But most importantly, your passion for making our visitors feel welcome and cared for.

Do you have previous experience working at a sports facility, cleaning, or in gardening, agriculture, or nature-related fields? That is definitely a plus! But even more important is your readiness to dive straight into new challenges and learn new skills. Have you never operated an ice machine or tractor before? No problem – if you are ready to learn, we are ready to support you!

A few words from team leader and colleague Malin

I have the world's most fun job! I contribute to creating conditions for a diverse range of visitors to be active, which feels meaningful! For me, team spirit is incredibly important, and we always strive to make each other better!

Other

To provide Stockholmers with good accessibility, we staff the facility between 6 AM and 12 AM, 7 days a week, which means we work in shifts. We work 39 hours/week with day, evening, and weekend shifts.

For this position, we apply suitability assessment and will request an extract from the police criminal record (equivalent to a school extract) before hiring. Since the processing time can be long, we ask you to request a record extract here: polisen.se (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/skola-eller-forskola/)

The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at ensuring each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
