About the organization
Psychiatry South Stockholm is in an exciting phase of development. In 2025, the organization expanded with 7,500 new patients and three new clinics.
From 2026, our organization will consist of 9 inpatient wards with a total of 150 beds and 12 outpatient clinics, as well as an intensive outpatient care team.
About the position
The position is a permanent employment at 100%. The role of the patient safety coordinator involves initiating, driving, and supporting activities that contribute to the organization achieving its goal of being a role model in Swedish psychiatry.
As a patient safety coordinator, you will work professionally and independently with administrative handling of authority matters within the area of patient safety. You will also have direct contact with patients, relatives, and employees who have feedback on the care. The work also includes compiling and analyzing patient cases as an important part of the work with quality and patient safety issues.
Examples of daily tasks include:
- Managing the preparation process of cases for the manager and chief physician.
- Working to increase contact with the operations to support and educate on issues within the area of patient safety.
- Handling cases from authorities and complaints from individuals.
- Identifying serious care injuries or risks of serious care injuries within patient cases in consultation with the Chief Physician through continuous dialogue about incoming cases.
- Supporting the operations regarding patient cases, care injury investigations, and Lex Maria cases.
- Assessing and managing deviations.
- Guiding patients and relatives who wish to file complaints.
- Assisting with statements.
The work requires great flexibility and sensitivity to the needs and conditions of patients and the organization.
Our Patient Safety Team is part of the operational support of Psychiatry South Stockholm, located in newly built premises in Hammarby Sjöstad.
We are looking for someone who is a psychiatric nurse specialist and has previous experience working with patient/relative feedback, deviations, statements, and authority matters within healthcare. Furthermore, the work requires good administrative skills and proficiency in the Office suite.

We will take great consideration of personal qualities in this recruitment. Clinical experience in modern psychiatry and training in patient safety are advantageous.

- good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required, in addition to Swedish professional licensure. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
