Foster Care Secretary Wanted in Luleå

Hello! We are looking for an engaged colleague for our foster care unit, a place where you can make a real difference for children and youth in Luleå. Our operations are located in central Luleå, in newly renovated premises. The team consists of social workers, foster care secretaries, an administrator, and a specialist social worker, all with the same goal: to create safe and sustainable solutions for children and youth. Through our new organization, the work for foster care secretaries is clearer and more specialized, divided into two areas: recruitment, investigation, and matching as well as training and supervision.

Job Responsibilities

Within our operations, extensive development work is taking place with a focus on children and youth. We are developing a dynamic organization that includes services and interventions for children/youth and their parents. The goal is to develop a modern social service where we invest heavily in ensuring that all children and youth in Luleå have equal opportunities for good living conditions.

Your main responsibilities will be to provide support to our foster homes through training, supervision, and continuous follow-up, where you guide and are available even in challenging situations to give them the best possible conditions in their tasks. In this role, you will become a key person who both strengthens the foster homes and makes a decisive difference for the children and youth placed. A central part of your assignment is to collaborate both internally and externally, for example with other units within social services, schools, and other authorities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest and commitment to working with children and youth. Furthermore, you should have:

• Degree in Social Work
• Driver's license (B)
• Experience in supervising foster homes

It is advantageous if you have experience/knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

• Similar assignments as a foster care secretary
• Social investigation work within children and youth
• Relevant training in foster care such as Kälvesten and/or Connect

Your security in your role and competence creates calm and trust in meetings with others. You are attentive and naturally build trusting relationships with both foster homes and partners. With a solution-focused approach, you see opportunities even in challenging situations and act as a professional support for the foster homes. At the same time, you work in a structured and goal-oriented manner, plan your work well, and ensure that tasks are completed on time. The balance between relationship and structure allows you to be a stable and accessible resource for the foster homes and thus contribute to safe and sustainable solutions for children and youth.
