Your responsibilities
As a social worker with us, you will play a central role in processing and making decisions regarding financial assistance. You will make qualified assessments and decisions in accordance with current legislation, guidelines, and governing documents. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating and following up on cases, while also providing advice and support to both individuals and families on their path to self-sufficiency.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with engaged colleagues and partners, where you will become an important cog in our change and development work. Your efforts contribute to creating good, sustainable relationships with our clients and external actors.

You will also work closely with the labor market unit to find long-term solutions that promote self-sufficiency and development.

We are looking for
You who have an academic education in social work or another education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in public authority work is an advantage.

To thrive and succeed in the role of social worker with us, we hope you have a strong initiative and are solution-oriented. You should be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Communication skills are crucial, as you will collaborate with both internal and external parties.

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of social work. Experience in municipal operations and knowledge of applicable legislation is an advantage.

We also value your ability to work in a structured and independent manner, as well as your capacity to take responsibility and make decisions in complex and sometimes urgent situations.

Kalix Municipality is an administrative area for Finnish and Meänkieli. Knowledge of these languages is an advantage.
