The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and seeking more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. Operational Area Kristianstad

The operational area Kristianstad is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's southern region and currently includes Kristianstad Prison, located about 10 km south of Kristianstad. Currently, the prison has about 145 inmates and 120 employees. We are undergoing a significant capacity increase, and there is much happening in the operational area in terms of renovations and new constructions. In a few years, the new prison Vä is expected to accommodate about 600 inmates and have 500 employees. The largest professional group is prison officers, but there are also healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a cook, you will primarily prepare meals for inmates at the prison, but also to some extent for the staff. The tasks include all common duties in a large kitchen such as planning, purchasing, and preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The tasks also include cleaning the kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with applicable legislation. Preparation of dietary and other special meals is also included. The work is done in collaboration with staff in other functions.

Initially, placement will be at the current prison, and when the new prison's kitchen is completed, both kitchens will be in operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You are calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Approved restaurant or catering education at the high school level or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in a large kitchen.
• Experience working with self-control.
• Experience working with special diets.
• Further education in the field that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant for the position.
• Relevant language skills.
