Region Skåne is making an exciting investment with a new meal concept aimed at enhancing the dining experience for our patients. The new concept aligns with person-centered care, increasing patient choice and our environmental goals regarding reduced food waste and climate-smart choices. Food is an important part of medical treatment and contributes to the patient's recovery. Patients should have increased options for appealing, delicious, and well-composed dishes, available whenever they wish. This increases the chances that patients receive sufficient nutrition and have a positive dining experience. We always strive to develop in order to provide the best food for our patients.

Since autumn 2020, we have been working according to a new cooking method, cook and chill, which means creating new tasty and nutritionally calculated dishes tailored to different medical conditions and patient categories.

In Ängelholm, we deliver 1,500 portions of food daily to hospitals in Ängelholm, Helsingborg, and Landskrona. We are very proud of our production kitchen in Ängelholm and our contribution to the development journey of the new meal concept. From Kristianstad, we deliver approximately 3,500 portions daily to Kristianstad, Malmö, Lund, Ystad, Trelleborg, and Hässleholm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a kitchen assistant, your main task will be to pack our food into boxes in our cold storage. You will also pack supplies and clean the kitchen and machines. Simple cooking tasks may also occur.

We work with high-quality ingredients. Therefore, we expect you to feel a sense of responsibility to contribute, together with your colleagues, to ensure that the kitchen does its utmost every day to offer delicious, nutritious, and sustainable meals to our important diners.

Since we operate Monday to Sunday, working hours may include weekend shifts. Working hours are scheduled and can vary from as early as 06:30 to as late as 18:00.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a completed high school education, preferably in hotel and restaurant management, and who has very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Alternatively, you may have a vocational education in a relevant field. Hygiene training is a requirement. We also prefer candidates with work experience in food handling and/or kitchens.

To succeed in the role of kitchen assistant, it is important that you have good teamwork skills and a pleasant demeanor. You should also have the ability to see the bigger picture in the kitchen and can prioritize and structure your work. As schedules dictate operations, it is essential that you are comfortable with a varied work pace and that you have the ability to be meticulous and care about high quality even when the pace is fast.
