Are you a skilled chef looking for a varied job in a large kitchen at the forefront of development? Then this could be the position for you! We are now looking for chefs to work with us in Ängelholm or Kristianstad during the summer with the possibility of extension/permanent employment!
Region Skåne is making an exciting investment with a new meal concept aimed at enhancing the dining experience for our patients. The new concept aligns with person-centered care, increasing patient choice and our environmental goals regarding reduced food waste and climate-smart choices. Food is an important part of medical treatment and contributes to the patient's recovery. Patients should have increased options for appealing, tasty, and well-composed dishes that are available when they desire. This way, the chances increase that the patient receives enough nutrition and has a positive dining experience. We always strive to develop to provide the best food for the patient.
Since autumn 2020, we have been working according to a new cooking method, cook and chill, which means creating new tasty and nutritionally calculated dishes tailored to disease profiles and the needs of different patient categories.
In Ängelholm, we deliver 1,500 meals daily to the hospitals in Ängelholm, Helsingborg, and Landskrona. We are very proud of our production kitchen in Ängelholm and our contribution to the development journey of the new meal concept. From Kristianstad, we deliver approximately 3,500 meals daily to Kristianstad, Malmö, Lund, Ystad, Trelleborg, and Hässleholm.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a chef with us, you will work with a concept where you prepare various main courses and appetizers. You will be part of a team consisting of chefs and kitchen assistants. The work is varied, and you will rotate between different tasks in a production kitchen, which means that in addition to preparing concept food, you will also work with other tasks that occur in large kitchens, such as working in the diet kitchen with special diets, cold kitchen work, packing single-portion meals, dishwashing, and cleaning.
We work with high-quality ingredients, and we expect you, like your colleagues, to contribute to the kitchen doing its utmost every day to offer good, nutritious, and environmentally friendly meals to our important diners. Since many of our guests have special nutritional requirements, it is crucial that you follow established recipes.
Working hours vary depending on where you are employed but are scheduled during the day with weekend shifts every third/fourth weekend.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a trained chef with a couple of years of experience working in large kitchens. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills. Furthermore, you have experience working with self-control and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). Since you will be working in the diet kitchen, you need to have very good knowledge in that area and have worked for several years with special diets. Additionally, it is advantageous if you have experience and knowledge of cook and chill and dietary software such as Matilda or similar.
To succeed in this role, we believe you are a flavor-savvy and passionate cook with a proactive and curious work approach. You have the ability to see the whole picture in the kitchen and can prioritize and structure your work. Since kitchen work is governed by many lead times, it is important that you enjoy a varied work pace and that you can be flexible, meticulous, and quality-conscious even when the pace is high. Furthermore, we expect you to take an active role and contribute to the inspiration and development of new dishes. Being attentive and having good teamwork skills are other qualities we see as prerequisites for success in the job, and by sharing your knowledge and ideas, you actively contribute to a good working environment. We place great importance on personal suitability.
