The Role of Monthly Substitute

Your role as a substitute cook is to actively create joy and curiosity around food.

In your work, you stimulate children's interest in flavors and ingredients, thereby contributing to making meals a daily highlight. You also help shape children's future healthy attitudes towards food, the environment, and health.

Through us at BSF Staffing Unit, you can be offered a position as a cook for a monthly substitute, ranging from approximately 1 to 6 months. The substitute position will be at one of the municipality's 52 preschools, either in the city of Lund or in one of our villages: Dalby, Veberöd, Genarp, Torna Hällestad, Södra Sandby, or Revingeby. We will place great emphasis on matching your skills to the assignment at the relevant preschool.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is a trained cook and has worked as a cook for at least two years. You have documented experience in handling special diets and are familiar with self-control (HACCP).

You should be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have experience with managing digital orders and relevant administrative systems.

It is an advantage if you are familiar with meal pedagogy and are used to planning and ordering kitchen goods and ingredients.

Cook in the School

As the role of a cook involves daily interaction with both children and staff, it is crucial that your interest extends beyond food, the environment, and health. You must also value and engage with the children and the preschool's educational work.

As a person, you are creative and proactive, show responsibility in your work, and have a natural ability to build strong, positive relationships.

Staffing Unit

BSF Staffing Unit works to recruit and staff substitutes for our preschools. We fill the need for short-term substitutes when regular staff are absent due to illness/VAB, but also for planned absences in the form of vacation, training, or similar. In addition, we also fill monthly substitute positions and are now looking for you who are a trained cook and want to work with us on longer substitutes.
