Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The VO detention center in Helsingborg currently consists of the restrictive detention center in Helsingborg and the Berga common detention center. The detention center has various departments including a restrictive department, a youth department, and a women's department. The Berga detention center receives clients without restrictions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for four cooks for a meaningful summer temporary position!

As a cook at the detention center, you will primarily be responsible for cooking for the detainees, and to some extent for the staff as well. You will work in a large kitchen where your tasks include:

• Preparation of breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Special diets and dietary meals
• Cleaning of kitchen facilities and dishes
• Self-control according to applicable food legislation

The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in other functions. You are part of a team where cooperation, structure, and responsibility are crucial.

The position involves scheduled working hours including weekend shifts. There are good parking opportunities near the workplace as well as access to public transport.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has good self-awareness. You remain calm even in pressured situations and find it easy to collaborate. You take responsibility for your work and have good judgment.

Requirements:

• Culinary or large-scale kitchen education at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by Kriminalvården.
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

Meritorious:

• Experience working in a large kitchen.
• Experience working with self-controls.
• Relevant language skills
• Driver's license

• Selection for interviews is ongoing

• The summer temporary position runs from June to mid-August. Leave is granted restrictively
