As a bar manager, you are responsible for the operation and success of the bar at G Swensons Krog, which includes personnel responsibility, supplier contact, scheduling, service level management, and budget. You are largely involved in the daily operations where you work as a bartender and collaborate closely with the restaurant manager, event manager, kitchen manager, and owner.

You are present in the bar every day and are responsible for ensuring a high service level, delivering the drinking experience to all guests in the bar and at the tables, and providing the right service to our regulars. You love working with people, both employees and guests, and you are a magical problem solver, which allows you to organize the work for the employees neatly and simply. You are extremely stress-resistant and are not afraid to jump in and cover for other employees. If a problem arises, it stays with you.

You have overall responsibility for the operation of the bar as a whole, which includes orders, inventory, pricing, drink lists and assortment, preparations, cleaning routines, hiring and training of staff. You are a skilled communicator and have the ability to get others to follow you as a leader. With your strong guest focus and high service level, you lead and inspire your colleagues through good examples and role modeling. Your role is operational, administrative, and strategic. You are responsible for ensuring that all employees follow the existing routines and policies, as well as changing and creating new routines where needed. You lead daily meetings with your team and participate in daily and weekly meetings with the team leaders.

You keep a close eye on worked hours daily, weekly, and monthly, and aim to reduce the number of worked hours compared to last year's statistics while still delivering the same excellent service we are known for.

You will for example:

  • Be ultimately responsible for ensuring that all drinks are served quickly, efficiently, and of high quality during lunch, dinner, and nightclub hours

  • Be responsible for recruitment, scheduling, and employee reviews for the bar

  • Be responsible for the budget regarding ongoing purchases and personnel

  • Be responsible for and develop the daily operations of the bar

  • Follow up on quality goals for the bar

  • Drive sales and be proactive in promoting sales in the bar

  • Be part of G Swensons management team and report to the owner

  • Work as a bartender on a daily basis

  • Handle back office tasks and lead projects

  • Ensure that cleaning and maintenance are taken care of and that the bar is in good order

  • Conduct daily meetings, weekly meetings, and monthly meetings

  • Analyze revenues and costs daily and ensure adherence to the budget

  • Be creative and find new concepts and ideas that lead to increased sales

  • Review existing routines and policies, improve them, and ensure compliance

  • Ensure that regulars receive exceptional service

  • Handle ongoing orders and purchases for the bar

  • Train new employees

  • Lead staff events that contribute to good cohesion among bar staff

  • Have an overview of everything happening in the restaurant

  • Keep track of all products we sell, wine, beer, coffee, other beverages, and train other staff in beverage knowledge

  • Input new products into the cash system

  • Ensure that routines for handling cash and card payments are followed

  • Check cash registers daily and ensure there are no discrepancies in the cash handling

  • Assist serving staff as needed with table bookings, orders, and serving hot food

  • Assist other managers with tasks they need help with (restaurant manager, nightclub manager, kitchen manager)

We want you to be:

  • You have previous experience as a bar manager

  • You have many years of experience in the restaurant industry

  • You have excellent knowledge of cocktails and beer as well as good wine knowledge

  • You are a humble team player and enjoy communicating with your colleagues

  • You are passionate about going the extra mile for guests as well as for your staff

  • You are a pronounced service person who is creative and open to new ideas and solutions

  • You are an experienced administrator and have experience working towards clear goals, both financial and qualitative, and can draw conclusions from the results

  • Being meticulous and working with the small details is natural for you
